Biography
Training
Born in Plentzia (Vizcaya).
Maite started studying music at the Bilbao Conservatoire of Music. She continued to study voice at “Madrid Higher School of Singing”.
She then went on to train with Félix Lavilla, and took master classes given by singers of the ilk of Teresa Berganza, Sophie Koch…
Prizes
In 2007, Maite took first prize at the “Ciudad de Logroño” International Singing Contest and was selected for the “Operalia 2008” Singing Contest in Quebec, organised by Plácido Domingo.
Operas
Maite has performed different roles in the following operas:
“Lucia di Lammemoor” at the Pérez Galdós Theatre in Las Palmas and at the Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall during the ABAO Bilbao Opera season (2019/2020)
“L`Isola disabitata” by Manuel García, under the musical direction of Rubén Fernández Aguirre and artistic direction of Emilio Sagi at the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao and the Santander Festival Palace.
“Il viaggio a Reims”, “Werther” and “Suor Angelica” at the Royal Theatre of Madrid.
“El Barbero de Sevilla” performing the role of Rosina in Malaga.
“Norma” along with Edita Gurberova and Sophie Koch at the Nice Opera House and the Salle Pleyel concert hall in Paris.
“La vida breve” by Falla at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid.
“La llama” by Usandizaga, conducted by Juanjo Ocón and with the Basque National Orchestra.

Maite’s performances at concerts and oratorios include:
“Coronation Mass” by Mozart at the Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall, conducted by Inma Shara and with the Basque National Orchestra.
“Réquiem de Mozart” in the National Music Auditorium.
“Stabat Mater” by Pergolesi at Las Rozas Auditorium.
“Stabat Mater de Orbán György” at Pamplona Cathedral.
“La passione di Gesù Cristo” by Salieri at the Bilbao Music Festival conducted by Christoph Spering.
“A Midsummer’s Night Dream” by F. Mendelssohn with the RTVE Symphoney Orchestra and Choir at the Monumental Theatre in Madrid.
”Recital of Spanish Music” at the Toulouse Summer Festival.
“Beethoven’s Ninth” at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid, Euskalduna Concert Hall in Bilbao with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS).
”Zorba the Greek” with the Bilbao Choir and the BOS.
